Josie and Mike were planning a 3-course vegan menu, and we put together a list of what has proved popular in the past.

Josie and Mike’s vegan wedding

Josie and Mike contacted us in June 2020 with a view to getting married at Alpheton Hall Barns on 9th October 2021.

They were planning a 3-course vegan menu, and we put together a list of what has proved popular in the past. It is an ever-growing list as guests bring their own experience to the table. It is always nice to have input from clients.

Josie and Mike also were also hoping to have a bar, with drinks provided by themselves. Alpheton Hall Barns have a wonderful bar area designed and hand built by Nic himself (the proprietor). Nic and Carol are very creative and have a couple of bars, a rice trailer, a welcome drinks trailer (outdoor) and a purpose-built bar within the barn. All that remained was for us to supply a team to staff the bar in the evening. It is always a pleasure to provide the little extras that make a wedding so special. Alpheton is a beautiful venue and guests have a range of optional extras to choose from, including a wonderful stone-based pizza oven.

Obviously, there were several COVID related issues to tackle, just in case there was to be another lockdown over the date of their wedding. Our policy during COVID was to reschedule all our clients to a suitable date the following year, without any additional monetary charges. Unfortunately, several of our clients had needed to cancel due to conflicting availability of suppliers, which was bound to happen, but in this case, we returned the deposit paid to our clients.

After a few ZOOM meetings we narrowed the menu down and Josie and Mike decided to also provide some of their own very favourite recipes for the day. We hosted a private tasting in June 2021 to ensure the recipes were as envisioned. Naturally, the final menu was to include pizza cooked in the stone-based pizza oven. It was lovely to get to know Josie and Mike better and soon afterwards we received their deposit and completed Terms and Conditions.

The tasting is a great opportunity to discuss the procedure, set up time, timings of the day, welcome drinks, table wine, supplier meals and dietary requirements.

The wedding day was perfect; it is always a privilege to see our couples so relaxed & happy with their family and friends. As everything had been finalised the day before the wedding, during set-up, we were able to execute a professional, inconspicuous, friendly service without bothering the couple themselves on the day. We always keep a tray of canapes aside for our couples in case the photographer commandeers them during canape service. The service for the wedding breakfast was exceptional and one of our waiters remarked how it had been her very favourite wedding since she started working for us 3 years ago.

My wife and I booked TFS for our wedding on 9th October 2021 and it was one of the best decisions we made for the day. We opted for a vegan wedding as we had some vegan guests and wanted them fully included in the menu. TFS had vegan dishes on the menu already – which was why we booked them – but they were so accommodating in taking new ideas and putting a professional twist on them. The tasting was a great experience, and we were able to offer critiques which Emma and the team took onboard and turned into an incredible menu. In the end we gave the guests a fully vegan menu that was highly complimented. I can’t recommend TFS enough.
